Salt Gel Attapulgite

SALT GEL is a hydrous, magnesium silicate clay (attapulgite) that is utilized in water-based drilling fluids where the salinity exceeds 35,000 mg/L.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Primarily used to provide viscosity in high salinity, water-based drilling fluids.
  • Is a cost-effective viscosifier for use in salt water and salt saturated drilling fluids.
  • Is very effective when utilized in lost circulation pills in zones of high porosity.
  • Is not affected by prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
  • Will exhibit stable rheology under high temperature conditions.
