Inhibidrill

INHIBIDRILL is a cationic multivalent clay/shale inhibitor. INHIBIDRILL is primarily used as a clay/shale inhibitor in water-based fluids. It is also used in water flood clay stabilization.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Effective clay/shale inhibitor for water-sensitive formations.
  •  Reduces bit-balling and increases ROP in soft formations.

NOTE: Additions to a bentonite system will cause flocculation; bentonite must be prehydrated prior to addition. Using bentonite with INHIBIDRILL will cause product
depletion. The use of INHIBIDRILL in bentonite-based fluids is not recommended. Highly
reactive clays/shale will require higher maintenance treatment, again due depletion.

pH should be maintained at below 10.5.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

6 L/m³ initially

It is recommended to conduct Capillary Suction or Core Flow Testing to determine the
optimum INHIBIDRILL concentrations.
