CHEBREAK ECA is a free-flowing, water-soluble enzyme blend designed to consume a wide range of natural and semi-synthetic polymer chains.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Has a citric acid buffer and buffers the pH to 4.0-5.0.
Offers a cost-effective method of breaking polysaccharide polymers without using liquid acids, bleaches, or oxidizing agents.
Effective for cellulosic, guar, and starch-type polymers.
Will not break Kelzan® XCD Polymer or other xanthan polymers such as Millzan D.
Reduces viscosity before flocculating or land farming.
Provides a clean, economical method for reducing viscosity in polymer-based muds.
Used as a soak solution to help clean polymer filter cake and residual filtrate across the production interval.
Not expected to cause formation damage if pumped downhole to break in-situ polymers.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Typical dosage:1.0 kg/m³ to break normal systems.
Temperature requirement: <60°C.
pH range: ~6.5.
Handling note: Do not use strong mineral acids to buffer, as a pH below 3.5 will denature the enzyme.
Reaction time: Viscosity reduction occurs within 24 hours when standing.
Soak solutions: May be made up in KCl brine.
Pilot testing recommended: The more complex the polymer chain, the more time required to break it.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Appearance: White powder, odorless
Specific Gravity:1.540
Solubility:Soluble in water
pH (10% solution):2.6
MIXING/HANDLING:
Mix through a standard mud hopper over one circulation to evenly disperse the breaker throughout the polymer system. Refer to SDS for specific handling and safety precautions.
