ULTRAFLOC L is an anionic liquid emulsion polymer that provides shale stability, viscosity, and lubricity in water based drilling fluids. ULTRAFLOC L contains 30% active high molecular weight partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide polymer in an easy to mix liquid emulsion.
Shale Stabilization: Encapsulates reactive shale platelets by forming a protective layer on the wellbore and
around drilled cuttings, decreasing the shale’s tendency to absorb water, swell and slough-off. Works alone or in
conjunction with KCl to stabilize active shales.
Flocculation: Will promote solids settlement in the mud pit by adding small amounts at the flowline.
Friction Reduction: Has thinning properties that reduce power losses at points of high shear, especially at the
drill bit, and other restrictions such as at the pump discharge, drill collars, etc.
Viscosity: A very cost-effective viscosifier for low salinity clear-water drilling operations. Its shear-thinning
properties ensure maximum power to the bit under high shear, excellent carrying capacity under low shear, yet
allows easy solids removal in the mud pits.
Foam Stabilization: A long-chain polymer structure that aids foam drilling by creating a tighter, stronger foam,
enhancing cuttings removal and reducing water requirements. It is compatible with all common foamers.
Shale Stabilization: Filtrate concentration range from 0.5 kg/m³ for slightly hydratable shales to 1.5 kg/m³ for
moderately hydratable shales. Gumbo shales may require concentrations as high as 3.0 kg/m³.
Flocculation: 1L/30m hole drilled. Holes larger than 222mm may require higher concentrations
