ENVIRO-PLUG #8 is a high-swelling Wyoming Bentonite in granular form. ENVIRO-PLUG #8 has a unique molecular structure that makes it an ideal sealant.

Specific Gravity: 2.45-2.55
Solubility: Insoluble (forms colloidal suspension)
pH: 8.0-10.0 (5% solution)
Melting Point: 1450°C
Particle Size Distribution: 98% passing 4 mesh; 5% passing 20 mesh

MIXING/HANDLING:

In cable tool operations, ENVIRO-PLUG #8 can be used to grout the casing as it is being driven. A hole should be dug at the surface 6-8” larger than the casing and 12-14” deep. Once the driving has begun, drill this hole with ENVIRO-PLUG #8. The granules will follow the drive shoe downward as driving continues creating a bentonite collar around the casing. Refer to the SDS for specific precautions and handling requirements.
