BICARBONATE of SODA (NaHCO3) is used primarily to remove calcium contamination from water-based drilling fluids following cementing operations.
• Primarily used to prevent or treat calcium contamination in water-based drilling fluids.
• Effectively and economically treats out calcium ions (Ca++) by removing them as an
insoluble carbonate.
• Will reduce the pH of the drilling fluid.
As a pre-treatment for drilling hard cement, 22.68 kg of BICARBONATE of SODA will treat
~1m³ of cement.
If green cement is anticipated, 2-3 times as much will be required.
